About a year ago I started working towards a distinction with the Royal Photographic Society.  This last weekend saw 10 of my images go in front of a panel of seven judges who decide if the standard of work presented is of sufficient quality to recommend an award of the distinction Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS).

The distinctions vary from Licentiate, Associate and Fellow with the quality required for a successful application increasing at each level.  Only 11 of the 50 at the session I attended were passed and mine was one of the 11.

There's a grin here that may need to be surgically removed!    You can see the images here

Ouch! our external email server has gone down, the company that run it are working on the problem but for the moment, it seems that all the emails received recently have been lost... if you have emailed me and NOT received a reply, please resend it!

It's been a busy year so far;

The upgrade of the software that I use to keep the site up to date killed 53 galleries, only just recovering from that one!

The prices are in the process of being restructured after getting a great deals from my suppliers..

Wedding albums are now available

The site has had a major overhaul and is now optimised for 1064 pixels wide as that's what most people seem to use.

Traffic has been hitting 4000 visitors a day! Hello all of you!

Email seems to be problem free again, but send me a quick hello so I can keep an eye on it!

The journey continues!

more to follow!

Problems with BTBroadband mean that emails to me are being delayed.  Well not so much delayed, but I can't get to the mail server to get them as my broadband connection keeps going missing!   BT are looking into the problem but so far, they are doing a good impersonation of a chocolate liferaft in a hurricane.  The fault has been escalated to a human, but , the problem still exists  and my internet access has been available for only 2 hours in the last 14 days!   If you are thinking of using BT as your internet provider, you may wish to note what passes for a "level of service"!

BACKGROUND...
Canter for a Cure ™ is run and administered by Equetech. The monies raised will be handed to Cancer Research UK – Breast Cancer Research.  At Cancer Research UK we spend over £20 million a year on research into breast cancer.  Our work covers all aspects of the disease, from its molecular causes through to treatment and prevention. Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in the UK after non-melanoma skin cancer. Over 41,000 new cases are diagnosed every year.
Breast cancer claims the lives of 12,700 women each year in the UK. Men can also get breast cancer but it is rare around 300 cases are diagnosed each year.

The good news is that – thanks to earlier detection and improved treatment – breast cancer death rates in the UK have fallen by a fifth in the last ten years. You can find out more by visiting the Cancer Research UK website
